The only thing I haven't gotten to work on my new computer is the printer driver -- I've downloaded the one from the website, and installed it, but I think it's not happy because of the network, or something. When I originally installed the printer driver on my old computer, I couldn't do it without many long conversations with tech support, and only then because we tricked it and gave it a different driver. (I've tried mimicking the settings on the old computer, to no avail.)

I called HP today, and our printer "ees out of wahranty," so to please give them $55 for a year's support or $30 for TWO WEEKS of it.

I'll try again on my own, first. I really expected more from HP -- if you keep a customer happy, they'll be in a better frame of mind when they purchase a replacement and think of you first. Then again, when you own the market, I guess no one cares if you're an asshole.

Raj for Congress!

(I suppose I can still vote for Christopher Walken for President, though...)

I just got an email from Bizzy B's with the following information:

"Bizzy B's would like to announce that we have come up with an even bigger and better chunky Wax Aroma Melt! Our new Cup of Scent Aroma Melts weigh-in at a whopping 1.75 Oz each! Simply pop them out of the cup, place in your burner and FILL your room with amazing scent!

To make room for these SUPER SCENTERS...we are putting ALL of our current stock of 1 Oz Wax Aroma Melts ON SALE!

Starting at midnight tonight (March 20, 2006 CST) our current stock of Wax Aroma Melts will be available at a discounted price to get them out the door and our new Cup of Scent Wax Aroma Melts will be added for purchase."

I know that [livejournal.com profile] morghana was looking at the melts, so hopefully I caught you before you placed an order! :D

(original party information can be found here...going through midnight EST Wednesday)

Saturday was pretty quiet -- our shift Friday had been similarly quiet, but I napped when we got home anyway, while [livejournal.com profile] dfilove headed off to the hospital for another clinical rotation. I got a bunch of houseworky things done, and then we rented movies, but promptly fell asleep when we put the first one in.

Sunday, we were treated to a visit from [livejournal.com profile] snarkymarcy, [livejournal.com profile] bonkoif and the Lovely Lady Bella! She was charming and amazed us all with her mad backward-crawling skillz. Pie was consumed. And Hagen was FASCINATED by the teeny snack baby. He would have been delighted to lick her face and hands all day, but she declared ENOUGH after about 5 licks. ("Let's ask Mr. Owl!") I was particularly pleased that he seemed to understand that fingers are fingers, no matter what size, and they are not biteables.

After they left, Dana got some more homework done, I undid the home improvement project we'd attempted that morning, and drove fertilizer stakes for our crepe myrtles. (BTW -- our lawn guy suggested the most ingenious thing -- rather than buy fertilizer spikes, hammer a stake into the ground and remove it, and then pour fertilizer into the hole. Apparently much cheaper, and I can attest that the spikes are a bastard to drive in.)

Tomorrow, I should receive the prize package, including the basketball tickets, which may very well go straight up on eBay, depending on where they're located. :D

Okay, so we've been in Chesterfield for a year and a half, and I think I've discovered the missing thing. The thing you can't get here, though it's completely ubiquitous everywhere else. The missing thing differs from place to place; I used to ship Wise brand Onion and Garlic potato chips and golden blossom honey to Los Angeles, f'rinstance.

The missing thing down here is cheese popcorn. *Orange* cheese popcorn, to be exact; I can find Smartfood. But there are times when the white cheesiness does not appease. And don't try to tell me that Cheetos or some such things count; they don't (although they are the only food I've managed to eat with chopsticks). I have looked in two grocery stores, at WalMart, and at three different WaWas. I actually found a small bag at the last WaWa, but I'm convinced it was an error. In any event, it wasn't a WaWa that's overly convenient to me.
