Social Networking

I just tried to fight my LiveTrumps card, and they're down for usage issues. There was a link to "100 Million Spiders" which is a social networking experiment (like SixDegrees was). I started my network here if you would like to join -- I expect our friends and our friends' friends will quickly be very large. :)

I typoed your email address, and it won't let me change it (because your real address already exists in the system), and it won't let me delete it and start over.

We all know I'm not the brightest star in the sky ... I can NOT figure out how to confirm a thread. :-/

I can't tell from here -- try hitting "change details" on the one you spun to me and correcting the address -- maybe that will bypass the need to confirm.

It won't let me change your address in my initial entry, it says "We're sorry, that address already exists in our system." To which I say to them, "Don't be sorry, just spin the thread!"

So I added you again, with your actual email address, and now you should be able to see an entry saying you haven't confirmed or denied my thread ... but do you see a way to accomplish either of those actions?

I have, and I do, but I think my browser may be thwarting me. On the left hand menu bar, there should be a "1 Thread Needs Action" note at the top. Except that when I click it, it asks me to login, and when I login, it doesn't do anything about the confirmation.

Trying it in IE now.

Yep -- worked fine in IE. We should be confirmed now.

Weird. I opened it in IE, and I still don't see a message about threads needing action. Spiders hate me.

Nope. "my home page" is the top button, followed by "start your network" and "spin new thread".

Weird. Stupid, stupid spiders. Let me poke my thread and make sure I spelled everything right. Did it send you an email saying I'd involved you in a thread?

Try clicking on the "start your network" button -- I have more orange buttons on the side than you do. I have "my home page", "add your picture", "spin new thread", "update my details", "search users", "random user", view my bookmarks", "add new bookmark", and "blog my network" all in orange. In blue under that are separate lists for "friends", "family members", "work colleagues", and "college friends".
