Oh, how time flies

25 years ago today, my family and I moved to a godforsaken little village called Schmitten in Germany, where I lived for three years on the side of a mountain, safely away from all television and friends and sunshine. I exaggerate. I remember the sun peeking out once or twice.

Had a marvelous weekend -- spent Friday night "on" the ambulance (although we only had 3 calls, and all of them were refusals). It was the first time I've eaten dinner without getting a call, and sleeping through the night without a call. Tuesday night is a Special Squad Meeting, at which we expect the business of last Tuesday's "Let's Whip the Members into a Frenzy and Attempt to Impeach the President (So They Don't Notice the Rest of the Board Is Doing Fuck-all)" meeting to be concluded. The machinations of non-profit organizations rarely change, but I was surprised to see "inept" and "malicious" crop up in this one so soon after I've joined.

Saturday was a lot of (very pretty) driving, a WONDERFUL shower thrown by cellymcfae for the Increasingly Pregnant snarkymarcy, a quick detour to the House Of Palino to visit with the menfolk, and then a lot more driving (luckily, it stayed light long enough for me to get back through the pretty areas).

And Sunday was a lot of desk-cleaning and resting and some lawn mowing. Wheeee!
