So many people mess up intarsia on the first go. I don't know if this was your first or not, but that hat looks like a great job and I bet you'll get a lot of use out of it! I like the dot design and colors you used. :)
Thank you!! It was my first go, and I learned the following things:
1. Read the pattern. Read it again. Put the needles DOWN, and read it again again. 2. Spit splicing tastes a lot like owning a cat. 3. Felting is very kind, if you have room for shrinkage.
I frogged this three times, because of my failure to learn thing #1. I was attempting to carry the brown yarn across the back of the circles, and do only the CIRCLES in intarsia. The instructions *actually* said to carry the brown yarn UP between the first row of circles and the second row, rather than starting all new bobbins.
I'd be happier overall if I hadn't used the variegated as the MC, but I didn't choose the colors. And because I didn't choose the colors, it's looking for a new home. :)
Right now, I have a black cashmere cloche-type thing (the baby hat in my size, bascially) on needle, and have to do the i-cord for the brown sweater (never photographed).
I bought charcoal Rowan cocoon for a hoodie, needles for Toasty Toes socks, and some self-striping sock yarn. :) AND, yesterday bought the cashmere lace yarn for a very pretty flowy sweater, which is thankfully on backorder so it won't call to me in the interim.

This weekend there will be more baking, but I doubt I'll have excess this time. There will be a Grandma helping, and they'll get some.
