I'm fond of weekends when I can't really remember what happened, because there was a lot of it.

[livejournal.com profile] mydwynter and [livejournal.com profile] pyratelady came down on Thursday night for a Friday rehearsal. They were not scared off by a flat tire (yay, Officer Friendly), and we managed to get quite a bit done. Most importantly, Wardrobe Issues were discussed, and I think we have A Plan.

Friday night we had the first entree from My Girlfriend's Kitchen -- chicken on the bone with feta cheese and olives. The food quality was good, but we discovered a mutual dislike for chicken on the bone. I suspect I'll be calling to get that entree replaced. Saturday's lunch was a toasted italian hoagie, which was pretty good but I think would benefit from more arugula and salami. Last night's enchiladas were quite yummy.

Saturday morning, I got up really early, flung the dog in the backseat and went up to the breeder's for some ring training. Upon arrival, I handed off Hagen to someone who would run with him for a half hour out in the park, and settled down to be a big slug. He did a few rounds in the training ring, with and without me calling him like a banshee (to get your dog's attention at a show, some people use whistles -- I shriek his titled name over and over and over: "YoshiYoshiYoshiYoshi!!"). Then, he sat in his crate in the car (all windows down, no worries) while I hung out in the backyard with 3 dogs, several toys, and a lot of dog lovers. Very fun. I also got to smoooosh on some TEENY BABY puppies, and a 12-week old named Hellion. I thought Hagie was just normal-sized, but in comparison to other dogs his age, he's a monster. Will be interesting to see him with the other dogs at the show -- I think there will be about 30 dogs in his class.

Saturday evening, we thought we'd be on the ambulance, but we found the crew leader had double-booked crews -- neither Dana nor I are cleared yet to drive, so we couldn't be our own unit, and this pair had little desire to have us work with them (a desire we shared, so we went home). We'll stick with our alternate Friday shifts with the crew we like a lot, and are applying at another squad.

Sunday we planned to go to the State Fair for my birthday (because I am pathetic and I love fairs), but Dana had a metric butt-ton of schoolwork to do, so I curled up with the laptop (and my even more pathetic sweepstakes), and he churned through a lot of it. :) I only really wanted to spend the day with him, so I got my wish! New West Wing and Rome, nachos and enchiladas, and a chocolate dream pie. What more could I want?
