New thing to add to moving to-do lists...
"Add your new phone numbers to the National Do Not Call List."
OMFG, these people get your number FAST and call you all the damn time! Hate them all! It's going to take a bit before our new numbers are assimilated into the directory.
It HAS called to my attention how incredibly effective the Do Not Call List is, though. :)
We're a week into the new house, and things are coming together bit by bit. We unpacked fast and furious while the movers were still here, and sent many empty boxes back with them. Last night, Dana and I made many trips down the driveway with the rest of the boxes we've unpacked, and I estimate we've still got another 30 to go (although many of those are books, and will remain sealed until we can put in some built-ins in the library).
The electronics in the basement are all great, and the office has the correct parts on order (after 3 nights of tweaking and then a call to India revealed that two of the new things are incompatible with each other). We have placeholder curtains up in the bedroom that will get us through until we can get something made. The kitchen will be done after today, when I get a replacement back for one of the barstools.
AND, we think the trades will be done by the end of next week -- paint touch ups, tile repair, hood finishing, final light fixtures in places...little things. The big thing we're waiting on is the other low-voltage firewall -- until that's in, we have no security cameras, dimmers in many rooms, scene controllers, whole house controllers -- apparently the company is based in Florida and has been cleaning up after hurricanes aplenty.
