The flying squirrels in the attic are, um, still there. Some of them, at any rate. One of them expired in the trap (only about 3-4 days before we found him last week), and one of them wandered through the attic, fell down a crevasse and died in the wall.
Perhaps as a result of a rodent haunting, all 11 of the smoke detectors in the house decided to shriek in unison on Sunday. We thought it might be heat-related, because it was hot as balls up in the attic and in the various storage areas. When the alarms went off the third time and kept going for 20 minutes, we had the firemen come out, look around, and say "dunno." Fast forward a few hours, to a much cooler house, and they went off again (in the middle of the Sopranos finale, making that the most exciting part of the hour). It only took removing the batteries from two to locate the bad one, and that was replaced yesterday.
The bat guy (aka squirrel remover) was supposed to come out today. He did not, but as of yesterday, the trap was still unsprung.
On the sweeping front, I caught up with my entries last week (and promptly fell behind again). On Friday, I got a $10 Target gift card in the mail, won a Shutterfly photo book, and a Fantastic 4 movie poster. Soon, a big prize? I live in hope. :)
I think that's all I've got. I'm scattered lately.
