Desserty opinions sought
May. 2nd, 2006 01:06 pmWe're having people over for dinner tomorrow, and Dana has planned a veal and mushroom extravaganza. Cream-based wild mushroom soup, caesar salad, veal scallopini with a porcini-marsala pan sauce and wild mushroom ravioli. So...I am all about the dessert. I have found the following two recipes -- anyone tried anything like these?
Lemon Ice Cream
Lemon Buttermilk Sherbet
I want something cool and citrusy, but not watery like a sorbet. I can't tell if the buttermilk is going to be good or not; I'm not familiar with it except in cornbread (and pancakes). I would probably have berries to sprinkle on top.
