Chai mints -- review
Apr. 27th, 2006 01:05 pmVerMints Chai (http://www.vermints.com): "Flavored with Fair Trade tea from our friends at Honest Tea." No animal products used. Ingredients: Organic crystalized cane juice, organic tapioca syrup, organic Vermont maple syrup, organic chai tea, agar, gum tragacanth, natural chai oleoresin, pure Vermont spring water. Calories: 5 per serving (1 mint).
Altoids style tin. On the inside lid: "Kashmiri Chai, Spiced indian black tea. In most parts of the world "chai" (rhymes with "hi") means tea. In the United States it means spiced black tea. Our friends at Honest Tea -- makers of the world's best bottled tea (all organic and not too sweet) have shared their recipe. You'll taste the cardamom, cinnamon, pepper and Fair Trade tea from India."
Very mild flavor overall, and not overly chai-y -- slightly cinnamony if anything, but really just only sweet. Bought at Ukrop's.
Oral Fixation Night Light Caffeinated Chai Mints (http://www.oralfix.com): No animal products used. Ingredients: Sugar, brown sugar, magnesium sterate, natural flavors, caffeine, Yellow #6. Calories: 5 per serving (2 mints).
Fabulous packaging (slidy opening tin), single layer of mints.
Very strong spicy flavor, with a nice lingering aftertaste. I bought these at Sunglass Hut -- I've seen them at more than one of those locations.
